Zuga Medical designs, manufactures and markets innovative dental implant systems.

The system allows dental professionals to reduce chair time, eliminate outsourced patient and laboratory services, and allow general dentist to perform the complete patient service with fewer visits.

Our Customer

Dental implants consist of a titanium threaded rod that is inserted in the jaw at the location of a missing tooth. Depending on the tooth that is being replaced, a specialized abutment is added to the rod after installation, and a standard crown is attached.

The threaded rod is treated in a way that at the molecular level, bone grows into titanium, allowing the rod to provide a highly secure base, and eliminating the potential for bone deterioration that occurs when partials or bridges are placed in the mouth.

On May 2, 2012, Zuga was selected as one of the winners of the Manufacturing Innovation Program, a partnership between the City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, MAGNET and NASA Glenn Research Center to allow small- and medium-size manufacturers to use the services of NASA Glenn Research Center experts to help solve technical challenges. As part of the program, Zuga will obtain a special low-interest loan of $50,000 from the City of Cleveland to further develop its advanced material research.
